註疏 Commentary

Mount Gezao 閣皂山, located in Zhangshu City 樟樹市, Jiangxi Province 江西省, is the 36th blessed land in the system of 洞天福地 and is one of the Three Ordination Mountains (龍虎山, 茅山, 閣皂山). It is the ancestral mountain of the Lingbao school 靈寶派 of Daoism because he famous Daoist priest Ge Xuan 葛玄 (164-244), the grandfather of Ge Hong 葛洪 (283-343), used to practice on this mountain.

Gezao shan zhi 閣皂山志 is a relatively brief gazetteer of Mount Gezao 閣皂山 with two volumes, edited by Yu Ce 俞策 in 1586. It contains a biography of Ge Xuan 葛仙公傳.

Comparing the version in the Sandong shiyi with the version in the Zangwai daoshu 閣皂山志 - E392, although the contents of the two texts are the same, this version is 两淮马裕家藏本, with an explanatory paragraph at the beginning and a record in 1873 added at the end, the handwriting of these two paragraphs is difficult to read.
