There are two brothers named Wang Wenlong 王文龍 and Wang Wenhu 王文虎. Wang Wenlong takes the imperial examination and achieves the highest rank. An official wants Wenlong to marry his daughter, but Wenlong refuses because he is already married. The official is so angry that he sends Wenlong to the frontier. His brother Wenhu and his wife, Woman Cai, come to the capital to look for him. But Wenhu is falsely accused of murder. Eventually, Wenlong returns and clears his brother's name. This story is set during the reign of Renzong Emperor of the Song (Songrenzong 宋仁宗 r.1022-1063).
