This edition is incomplete. It says that there is a poor family with two sons. The elder son has not returned since he went to take the imperial examination, and his wife supports his parents. The younger son is sent out to exchange a golden hairpin for money. But he gives the money to another poor man. His father is so angry that he sends his son to get the money back. The younger son leaves home again and this time he is lucky and marries a rich girl. While both sons are away from home, The elder son's wife has to beg in the streets to feed her in-laws. But her father-in-law hears slander about her and decides to remarry her. This issue ends here.
