Zeng Jinglai 曾景來 was a prominent Taiwanese Buddhist figure who played an influential role from the Japanese colonial period through the KMT martial law era. He graduated from the Sōtō University 曹洞宗大學, now known as Komazawa University 駒澤大學, in Japan, where he specialized in Buddhist philosophy. Zeng received an excellent education and maintained strong relationships with both the Japanese government and the KMT regime.
