A poor man called Cui Wencai 崔文才 gets married to a girl who is actually the fourth daughter of the Jade Emperor called Zhang Sijie 張四姐. Sijie can do magic and makes Wenrui super rich. Wenrui is jealous by his neighbour, who wants to kill him and take over his wife. Sijie is furious and kills the neighbour's entire family. This event shakes the emperor Renzong of the song (Songrenzong 宋仁宗 r.1022-1063), and he sends many generals to arrest Sijie. But Sijie is so powerful that no one can defeat her. Judge Bao 包 then has to go to the netherworld to ask the king of the netherworld about Sijie's origin, and the king tells Bao that Sijie is from heaven. Bao then asks the Jade Emperor to subdue Sijie. The Emperor also sends many generals, but they cannot defeat her. Finally, the Jade Emperor's wife and other daughters come down and persuade Sijie to return to heaven.
