A girl called Hou Zhending 候真定 insists on religious practice and refuses to marry. She leaves home to find a master and learn the way. The goddess Wangmu 王母 comes to enlighten her. She transforms herself into a handsome man to test Zhending, and Dingzhen is not fooled. In order to cultivate himself, Zhending grows hemp (Ma 蔴) and works hard. Her father comes to visit her, and she gives him two peaches. Her father and mother eat them, and she becomes pregnant. She gives birth to a boy. Zhending becomes a goddess, who is Magu 蔴姑. | |||
