A woman whose family name is Huang 黃 is a devout practitioner. As a result, she avoids misfortune and reincarnates as a man, winning the Imperial examination as the first attempt. Eventually, the man resigns his position and pursues immortality.

- The story in this edition is similar with 王氏女三世卷 - J234/新鎸三世化生寳卷 - WUL139/新鎸三世化生寳卷 - WUL140, but the wording is different. The family names of the figures are also different.
- 三世修行黃氏寶卷 - J233, 三世修行黃氏寳卷 - WUL68, 三世修道黃氏寳卷 - WUL69 and this edition are different editions of the same text.
- 新鎸三世化生寳卷 - WUL139 and 王氏女三世卷 - J234 are the same edition, but 王氏女三世卷 - J234 is missing the last page which is seen in 新鎸三世化生寳卷 - WUL139 .
