A young man called Shi Yun 時運 sets out on a journey to the West to see the Buddha, hoping to know when good fortune will come to him. On the way, he meets an old woman and an old dragon who also have questions. They ask Shi to find the answer from the Buddha. Eventually, Shi marries the old woman's daughter and becomes rich.
