An imperial concubine gives birth to a boy. Another concubine is jealous and tries to have the prince killed. A golden cow then swallows the prince and gives birth to a calf, which is the incarnation of the prince. The calf is married to a princess. After drinking an elixir, the calf turns back into the prince and tells his father the truth.
