A man called Xu Zijian 徐子見 goes to take the imperial examination. Before leaving, his pregnant concubine Woman Li 李 took out two butterfly-like ornaments, one for her husband and one for herself. Eighteen years later, Xu returns home only finds that Li has been kicked out of the house by his wife. Xu himself is also severely beaten and dies. Thanks to Judge Bao, his case is resolved and he is resurrected.
