- 三祖行脚因由寶卷 - J12 and the present edition appear to be the same edition, the main bodys are the same, howerver, this edition includes a title page which is not included in 三祖行脚因由寶卷 - J12.
- 太上祖師三世因由總錄 - H38 looks very similar with 三祖行脚因由寶卷 - J12 and the present edition. But there is a difference. On the first page of Luozu xingjiaojuan 羅祖行脚卷 of 太上祖師三世因由總錄 - H38, there is the name of the proofreader: 錢塘沈普禪字明哉校證. But in 三祖行脚因由寶卷 - J12 and this edition there is no such information.
