  • 文山遯叟蕭天石 (Xiao Tianshi, the Old Man Hidden Beneath a Mountain of Texts)
  • Xiao Tianshi states that the 太乙金華宗旨 text was acquired by a certain Zhou Weixin 周維新 of Chengdu from a Daoist and then printed and distributed. Later during the Kangxi reign era (1661-1722), a certain "Mountain Hermit from Beginning to End" (一了山人) reprinted the text in Chengdu.
  • Xiao Tianshi gleans the biographical details of the author of the 呂祖指玄篇秘註 from the author's own preface to that work. Canghai laoren benchengzi 滄海老人本誠子 (Master of Root Sincerity, Old Man of the Vast Sea) was a Confucian scholar during the Kangxi reign period who later practiced Chan Buddhism. After failing on both paths, he studied inner alchemy and achieved transcendent-hood.
