元始天尊說生天得道經 (yuan shi tian zun shuo sheng tian de dao jing, translated by John Lagerwey as "Pronouncement of the Heavenly Worthy of Primordial Beginning on Living in Heaven and Obtaining the Tao") is a short summary of physiological practices written in the style of Mahayana Taoist scripture, which belongs to the Lingbao tradition.

While authorship of the scripture remains unknown, records (inscription, ritual manuals) have shown that the text would have been used for recitation in ritual contexts since as early as 980 CE. It had also inspired a few later texts in the Taoist Canon.

This short scripture was listed in a handful of ritual manuals in the Song dynasty for recitation during rites.[1]

王吉昌 Wang Jichang had written 37 poems commenting and explaning the text under the name of 生天經誦解 Sheng tian jing song jie (Hymns in Exegesis of the Book of Birth in Heaven), in the thirteenth century.[2]
