An apocalyptical scripture reprinted in late Qing. According to this book, this Sacred Scripture of the Maitreya Buddha was buried under a mulberry tree in the Pingyang Prefecture of Shanxi Province. This book is intended for the believers to read, copy, and distribute in order to avoid apocalyptical disasters. This book traces the suffering of this world back to the event that Sakyamuni Buddha cheated against his elder brother Maitreya Buddha and thus brought chaos and disasters to humans. Maitreya Buddha promised to return and reincarnate into this world after three thousand years. The text includes thorough descriptions of people’s sufferings and how different people became wicked and corrupted. The return and reincarnation of the Maitreya will destroy the wicked and bring prosperity and everlasting peace.
