註疏 Commentary
Mount Magu 麻姑山 is located in Fuzhou City 撫州市, Jiangxi Province 江西省, where the Danxia Cave 丹霞洞 is one of the thirty-six 洞天. The female immortal Magu 麻姑 of the Eastern Han Dynasty(25-220) once practiced here.
Magu shan Danxia dongtian zhi 麻姑山丹霞洞天志 a very informative and detailed gazetteer on Mount Magu, with 17 fascicle (juan). Fascicle 1 shows paintings of the goddess Magu and mountains of Magu; Fascicle 2-4 describe the natural scenery, products, and architecture of the area, especially temples; Fascicle 5 records local religious beliefs, including rituals, books, monks, Daoists, and gods; Fascicle 6-12 are all local literary works; Fascicle 13 and 14 are about the subsidiary mountains of Mayuan 麻源 and Zonggu 從姑; Fascicle 15 is about the Yuying tang 育英堂, a Confucian school. Fascicle 16 and 17 are supplements.
