This is a polemic text created by Furen Renyou, the abbot of Gulin Monastery in Nanjing around 1905. Furen Renyou joins the disputes between the lineages of the Vinaya tradition, as he himself belongs to the Gulin lineage of it. In this text, he emphasizes that it was Guxin Ruxin, abbot of Gulin Monastery,  who revived the Vinaya tradition during the late Ming. Thus, the Gulin Monastery should be regarded as the original seat of all the existing Vinaya lineages. Furen Renyou also critisizes the abbots of Baohua Mountain (a major Vinaya centre since the second half of the seventeenth century) for obscuring the importance of Gulin Monastery in the history of the Vinaya tradition in their eighteenth century texts.
