| The Xu Biqiuni zhuan was carved from April 1941 to February 1942 within Zhulin monastery using woodblock printing (muke 木刻).This version had three volumes (ce 冊) divided into six scrolls (juan 卷), distributed in Zhulin monastery and Yufo monastery around August 1942. Each copy cost ten yuan. The text was long finished before its distribution, but it was accidently lost because of warfare in 1937. It was later recompiled and prepared for publication around December 1940. Around August 1942, the publication of the text was advertised on several Buddhist periodicals. According to one advertisement published on September 16, 1942, it indicated the intended audiences of this text, including book collectors (cangshu jia 藏書家) and Buddhists who admired eminent monastics and who researched monastic history (佛教徒之景慕尊宿並妍究僧史者). Several editions were reprinted from the 1980s to the early 2000s.
