A girl called Hou Yueying 侯月英 is good at martial arts. In the garden, she sees a yellow warbler and shoots it. However, her name is written on the arrow, which is inappropriate for men to see. Later, when she returns to her boudoir, she drops a ball with her date of birth on it. The arrow and ball are picked up by a man called Long Guanbao 龍官寳. When he returns Yueying's things, he promises to marry her. But Yueying's father doesn't approve of the marriage. He wants his daughter to marry another man whom Yueying doesn't like. Yueying runs away from home. On the way, she and her maid are robbed, but they defeat the robbers and kill their leader. Yueying herself becomes the leader of the bandits. Eventually, she and Guanbao are reunited and get married. | |||
