This is a reprint collection of the first four installments of 勸戒錄 Quan jie lu (Record of Admonishments and Exhortations). In this 8-volume collection, each installment is two volumes long with its own title page and table of contents at the beginning of each installment. All title pages have the same date: 光緒庚辰 (1880). The first preface in vol. 1 explains that the four installments were printed together as a unit at that time, which is why they are addressed in a single entry here.

On the title page of vol. 1, the publication location along with the location where the blocks were kept is stamped in red. This is not stamped on the title pages of vols 3, 5, and 7. The stamp reads: 盛京 鐘樓南彩盛刻字鋪存板.

Each installment was collected and produced by 梁恭辰 (1814-1887) - the first four in 1843-1848. In the second preface in vol 1, the writer 頼昌期 explains that he was the organizer behind the reprinting. He is credited as the reprinter on the first body page of each 卷 division within the text.
