The periodicals objective was “exhort virtue, proclaim the mercy and justice of Buddhism, develop the spirit of Eastern culture, to turn hostility into friendship,direct the aimless to Pure Land Buddhism” “勸善去殺，宣揚佛教慈悲濟世之真義，發揚東方文化之精神，化兵戈為玉帛，轉娑婆成淨土。” | |||
This periodical featured a multitude of photos, for a long time its first-class quality put it on the forefront of many Buddhist Chinese periodicals because of its notable distinguishing features allowing it to make its way overseas as well and become a cherished Buddhist periodical. | |||
It aimed to promote women's rights by giving women central roles in the publications and promoting them to positions of power. This was pushed for by the editor in chief. | |||
