Fohua zhoukan 佛化周刊 (Buddhist Weekly) was a weekly Buddhist newspaper published in Taizhou 泰州. It printed essays and illustrations and averaged four pages per issue.

As for the content of this short-lived weekly, it includes a surprising number of reprints of short works by famous Ming through Qing monks and lay Buddhist exegetes.
The following is the briefest of lists:
Ming and Qing dynasty Buddhist Laymen and Intellectuals:
- Peng Dingqiu 彭定求 (1645-1719) 『愛物說』in volume 84, which includes a citation from the well-known late Ming Confucian Luo Hongxian 羅洪先 (1504-1564；h. Nianan 念菴).
- Yan Maoyou 顏茂猷 (jinshi 1634) the author of the Diji lu 迪吉錄 (Record of Good Fortune). 『遏淫說』in volume 93, 1929.
- Yuan Hongdao 袁宏道 (1568-1610). There is a long excerpt from his Pure Land commentary, Xifang helun 西方合論, in volume 147, 1930.
Monks:
- Lianchi Zhuhong 蓮池袾宏 (1535-1615) under author 蓮池大師 『湯厄』in volume 94, 1929.
- Ouyi Zhixu 蕅益智旭 (1599-1655) under author 蕅益大師『善惡十界業道品』in volume 95, 1929.
- Youxi Chuandeng 幽溪傳燈 under author 幽溪法師『淨土法語』in volume 144, 1930.
For scholars interested in the formation of Buddhist societies almost every issue contains information on Lotus Societies 蓮社 that someone had visited. Such entries include the location and at times the activities of these groups. Texts like the 『南京普照資生極樂蓮社古規則並敘』invoke both Yongming Yanshou 永明延壽 (904-975) and Lianchi Zhuhong.
There is also one entry from 1930 on a London Buddhist society meeting attended by sixty persons, 『倫敦佛學會舉行年會』in volume 156, 1930.
Many articles address basic Buddhist concerns and doctrines, yet there are also charts and diagrams that accompany articles which explain Yogacara theories.

At first glance, a weekly publication of only four pages may seem quite modest. However, this amounted to sixteen pages per month and in that sense was not insubstantial. Many of the articles in this publication were published serially, and thus, could extend over several issues. Although this collection does not include the first seventy-eight issues and more research needs to be done to track them down. We know from the seventy-ninth issue that this weekly was printed at the Jiang-Zhe 江浙 No. 2 Prison 上海漕河涇江蘇,第二監獄署印刷科.
