This is a typeset, heavily abridged edition of Quanjie lu 勸戒錄 (Record of Exhortations and Admonitions), compiled by a woman named Lü Meisun 呂美蓀. She supplemented her brief selections from Quanjie lu with some of her own accounts of karmic causation, including an essay about her past lives.

有關人物 Associated Person(s)
Liang Gongchen 梁恭辰 (1814-1887) wrote and collected nine installments of 勸戒錄 published during his lifetime. A tenth installment was published posthumously. Lü Meisun 呂美蓀 (1881-1945) was an educator in the late Qing and Republican era and the author of two collections of biji 筆記 (Yinweishi bilu 寅畏室筆錄 and Mianliyuan suibi 葂麗園隨筆) from which some of Lü's additional tales of karmic causation included in this abridged edition of Quanjie lu appear to have come.
