This text figures prominently on the list of Daoist books banned in 1258 following the Buddhist/Daoist controversies at the Mongol court. The book was included in the Daoist Canon as Hunyuan shengji 混元聖紀 (DZ770). A comparison of the two versions show that the 1357 manuscript, much closer to the Song original, has substantial huahu 化胡 polemics and that the 1445 Canon version was softened.
