註疏 Commentary
Each chapter begins with a poem of 七言絕句, and except for the final chapter, each chapter contains 32 sentences of ten words each.
This text may have been influenced by the sectarian traditions since in the chapter "Chaoye" 朝謁章, the highest state of the female is the 老母. And it also lists a hierarchy of cultivation results that do not seem to have appeared in previous Daoist texts.
