註疏 Commentary
- This edition is called "朱子刪定桃園明聖經". According to the prefaces, this is a spirit writing version by Zhu Xi 朱熹(1130-1200). According to Cai Fei's preface, he once saw the book edited by Zhu and copied the text of the scriptures by hand but did not copy Zhu's commentary. Cai claimed that Zhu had received the order from Shangdi 上帝 to make the deletions to Taoyuan mingshengjing, 桃園明聖經 in the late Qing (清末).
- This version does not delete too much of the text. Only two or three sentences do not appear in this edition compared to the popular version of Taoyuan mingshengjing, 桃園明聖經. We also need to take into account the differences that may exist between different editions. But the text is heavily reorganised. First, this version divides the text into six sections, each with a title. Second, some of the text has been rearranged. For example, the sixth section of "經驗第六" includes parts of the text in the first part of the popular version but is reintegrated. The paragraph "吾素攬春秋......天崩我崩, 地裂我烈", which appears in the first part of the popular version, is moved to the third section, "力學第三", in the present version. There are a few other examples like this.
- The recipes 方 that take up a large part of 朱子刪定玉泉真本桃園明聖經 - GDZ50 are not included in this edition.
- This edition and 朱子刪定玉泉真本桃園明聖經 - R8 are very similar. The differences are: firstly, 朱子刪定玉泉真本桃園明聖經 - R8 has the title page and the publisher's page, which are not found in the present edition. Secondly, two dates are complete in 朱子刪定玉泉真本桃園明聖經 - R8 but not in this edition. One is the date of the preface written in 中華民國四十一年壬辰 (1952). In 朱子刪定玉泉真本桃園明聖經 - R8, the date is 中華民國四十一年壬辰 (1952) 春三月. But in the present edition, the characters "中華民國" are replaced by four blank boxes like this: "□ □ □ □ □ 四十一年壬辰 (1952) 春三月" (p.143). The date of the last preface is the same.
