玄武靈真 is Xuantian shangdi 玄天上帝, also known as Zhenwu dadi 真武大帝, a powerful deity in Chinese religion, one of the highest-ranking deities in Daoism, especially after the Ming dynasty. This text is used in the Bao’en zhai 報恩齋 to repay the kindness of parents by celebrating their birthdays and praying for them, in areas such as Sichuan.
