梁恭辰 (1814-1887) was the author/anthologizer of nine installments of 勸戒錄 published during his lifetime, with an additional installment published posthumously. The 134 tales in this vernacularized anthology were selected and rewritten by 汪慧植. The second preface in this edition credits him with this work, and the third preface is written by 汪慧植 himself in which he describes the reason for producing this adaptation.
