註疏 Commentary

Mount Qiyun 齊雲山, located in Xiuning County 休寧縣, Anhui Province 安徽省, is one of the four most famous Daoist mountains in China (武當山, 青城山, 龍虎山, 齊雲山), but it does not belong to the Daoist system of dongtian fudi 洞天福地. Local Daoist beliefs began in the mid-eighth century and after the Ming Dynasty, it became a Daoist holy place of worship for Zhenwu Dadi 真武大帝 (True Martial Great Emperor), with the title of Little Wudang Mountain 小武當山.

This text is the best gazetteer of Mount Qiyun during the Ming Dynasty. The author, Lu Dian 魯點, served as the magistrate of Xiuning County. It consists of five fascicles (juan), including ten paintings by the famous painter Ding Yunpeng 丁雲鵬 (1547-1628). It records a large number of texts related to local religious beliefs and is important for understanding the religious history of Mount Qiyun.
