Yuanzai bidushu 元宰必讀書 (The Must-Read Works of Optimi and Grand Secretaries) consists of what by the mid-Qing had become the triumvirate of morality books: Tract of the Most High on Action and Recompense (Taishang ganying pian 太上感應篇), Expanded Instructions of Thearch Lord Wenchang’s Vermillion Cassia Record (Wenchang dijun guangxun dangui ji 文昌帝君廣訓丹桂藉, an alternative name for the Tract on Hidden Merit), and The Martial Thearch’s Scripture Awakening the World (Wudi jueshijing 武帝覺世經). A final section is titled “Miscellaneous Disquisitions of Master Peng Ningzhi” (Peng Ningzhi xiansheng za shuo 彭凝祉先生雜說).
