Li Changling 李昌齡 gave sentence-by-sentence explanations of the scriptures with stories of historical figures. In the book, Li's annotations are called "Zhuan" 傳. Xu Naichang 徐乃昌 did the proofreading.

- 太上感應篇 - NLC18 and 太上感應篇 - NLC19 are both incomplete.
- This edition and 太上感應篇 - NLC18 are different editions of the same text. This edition is divided into four fascicles (冊), and 太上感應篇 - NLC18 is divided into two. There is a postface in 太上感應篇 - NLC18 that is not seen in the present edition. Before the main text of this edition, there is an article entitled “ganyingji" 感應記. The first few pages are lost in 太上感應篇 - NLC18, so it is not certain whether the "ganyingji" 感應記 is in 太上感應篇 - NLC18.
- The commentary in 太上感應篇經傳 - NAJ4, 太上感應篇經傳 - NAJ8, 太上感應篇經傳 - NAJ9 and the present edition is greatly cut compared with it in 太上感應篇 - NLC17, 太上感應篇 - NLC18 and 太上感應篇 - NLC19.
