This is a reprint collection of the first four installments of Quanjie lu 勸戒錄 (Record of Exhortations and Admonitions) under one of its alternate titles, Chishang caotang biji 池上草堂筆記 (Anecdotes from Chishang Cottage). In this 8-volume collection, each installment is two volumes long with its own table of contents at the beginning of each installment. The first volume has the date printed on the back side of the title page 光緒庚寅 (1890), and the first page of each volume credits the same individual (趙崇慶) for editing the reprint.
