註疏 Commentary

• This book is very similar to 太上感應篇圖説 - NLC29. The original edition of 太上感應篇圖説 - NLC29 was printed around 1657, and the original version of this book was printed around 1758. According to the preface of the compiler Zhu Rifeng 朱日豐, this book was compiled based on the book annotated by Xu Gongyun 許宮允. The author of 太上感應篇圖説 - NLC29 was Xu Hesha 許鶴沙, and 宮允 was one of his names. Therefore, the present book is most likely based on the book of 太上感應篇圖説 - NLC29.
• The difference between this edition and 太上感應篇圖説 - NLC29:
  • 1. The commentary of this edition includes "notes" (箋注), "quotations from the classics" (引經) and “extra comment” (附論), while in 太上感應篇圖説 - NLC29 there are only "notes" (箋注) and "quotations from the classics" (引經). Besides, according to the preface of the compiler Zhu Rifeng 朱日豐, the “extra comment” (附論) was by a person who was called "桂齋主人張子".
  • More stories were added in the present edition.
  • Zhu Rifeng claimed that he had added 太微仙君善過格 to the book.
• 太上感應篇經史集證 - LYY8 has the same commentary as the present edition without the illustrations. 太上感應篇 - NLC21 is another edition of the same text as 太上感應篇經史集證 - LYY8. It is an incomplete version with only the second fascicle (下冊).
